Understanding item liquidity and market demand
Liquidity Score Explained
Skin liquidity describes how easily and quickly a CS2 skin can be bought or sold without significantly moving its price.
Pricempire liquidity score evaluates market depth, listing counts, buy/sell price gaps, and Steam Market volume. For high-tier items that cannot trade on Steam because of the $2,000 limit, Buff market data can be used as an override signal.
Liquidity Levels
| Score range | Label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 80-100% | Highly Liquid | Excellent market depth, easy to buy or sell quickly |
| 60-79% | Good Liquidity | Good trading activity, reasonable buy/sell times |
| 40-59% | Moderate Liquidity | Average market activity, may take time to trade |
| 20-39% | Low Liquidity | Limited market activity, patience required |
| 0-19% | Illiquid | Very limited market, difficult to trade |

Listing Count
Number of active listings across marketplaces.
- Weight: 33 points
- 500+ listings: 33
- 200-499 listings: 25
- 100-199 listings: 18
- 50-99 listings: 12
- Less than 50 listings: 8
Buy/Sell Price Gap
Difference between buy orders and sell listings.
- Weight: 33 points
- 90%+ buy/sell ratio: 33
- 80-89% ratio: 25
- 70-79% ratio: 18
- 60-69% ratio: 12
- Below 60% ratio: 8
Steam Market Volume
Steam Community Market activity, or Buff override for high-tier items.
- Weight: 34 points
- 2400+ Steam sales: 34
- 1600-2399 sales: 28
- 800-1599 sales: 20
- 200-799 sales: 12
- Less than 200 sales: 8
- Buff override can apply when gap is at least 85% and listings are at least 5
