About the M4A1-S | Fade
The M4A1-S | Fade is a Covert rifle skin from The Sport & Field Collection. It arrived in October 2024 with The Armory update, so it never existed in CS:GO, and it quickly became one of the most wanted M4 skins in CS2.
The Fade is one of the most famous finishes in the game, and this was the first time it came to the M4A1-S. It is also the only Covert skin in its collection and does not drop from any case, which keeps supply tighter than most Covert rifle skins.
The wear tabs at the top of this page show the current M4A1-S Fade price for each condition.
Design
The finish uses translucent, airbrushed paints that fade into each other over a chrome base. Across most of the rifle that creates a smooth gradient of purple, pink, and yellow, while the stock, pistol grip, and a few small parts are left unpainted.
Unlike most skins, no two Fades look exactly alike. The pattern decides where the gradient sits and how much of the rifle is colored. Copies with a high fade percentage show more of the pink and purple and less uncolored metal, and those are the ones collectors want most.
How to Get the M4A1-S | Fade
The M4A1-S | Fade does not drop from any case. There are three ways to get one in CS2.
- Buy it from a marketplace. This is the route most players take, because it lets you pick the exact float and fade. The offers at the top of this page show every marketplace with a listing.
- Redeem it through The Armory. The Sport & Field Collection was released as an Armory reward, redeemed with Armory Stars earned from an Armory Pass. Which skin you get from the collection is random.
- Trade up to it. It is the only Covert skin in The Sport & Field Collection, so ten Classified skins from the collection always trade up into an M4A1-S | Fade. The Classified skins in the collection are the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon and Glock-18 | AXIA.
Wear Conditions and Float
The M4A1-S | Fade has a float range from 0.00 to 0.08, so it only exists in two wear conditions: Factory New (FN) and Minimal Wear (MW). There is no Field-Tested, Well-Worn, or Battle-Scarred version.
Wear barely shows on this skin. Small marks can appear even on Factory New copies, but they change very little across the range. Most copies are Factory New, and Minimal Wear covers only 0.07 to 0.08.
Switch between the two conditions using the tabs above. Each one has its own listings and price history.
Variants
There is no StatTrak™ version of the M4A1-S | Fade. A Souvenir version does exist and is far scarcer than the standard one. Pricempire lists each version separately, so you can compare them using the toggle above.
What Drives the Price of the M4A1-S | Fade
- Fade percentage. The biggest factor after condition. High-fade copies with more pink and purple carry a premium over low-fade ones.
- Float. With only two conditions, the exact float matters more than the wear name, and the lowest floats are worth more.
- Souvenir. Souvenir copies are rare and priced well above the standard version.
- Supply. It does not drop from cases, so new copies only come from The Armory and trade-ups.
- Demand for the M4A1-S. It is one of the two main CT rifles, which keeps interest in its Covert skins high.
- Applied stickers. Rare or well-placed stickers can add value that standard price data does not show.
