About the AWP | Medusa
The AWP | Medusa is a Covert sniper rifle skin from The Gods and Monsters Collection. It was released in CS:GO in May 2015 with the collection, at the start of Operation Bloodhound, and it is still available in CS2.
It does not drop from any weapon case and has no StatTrak™ version, so every copy comes from the original collection drops or from trade-ups. That limited supply has made it one of the most sought-after AWP skins, and a long-standing collector favorite.
The wear tabs at the top of this page show the current AWP Medusa price for each condition.
Design
The body of the rifle is painted blue and shows the Gorgon Medusa, the mythological figure with snakes for hair, drawn in shades of green and blue. The barrel, scope, and rear of the stock are left unpainted. The colors on this page break down as mostly grey, with black.
The design is the same on every copy. There is no pattern to check, so the look of a particular Medusa comes down to its wear.
How to Get the AWP | Medusa
The AWP | Medusa does not drop from any case. There are two ways to get a Medusa in CS2.
- Buy it from a marketplace. This is the route almost every player takes, because it lets you pick the exact wear and float. The offers at the top of this page show every marketplace with a listing.
- Trade up to it. The Medusa is the only Covert skin in The Gods and Monsters Collection, so a trade-up of ten Classified skins from the collection always produces it. The only Classified skin in the collection is the M4A4 | Poseidon.
Wear Conditions and Float
The Medusa has a full float range from 0.00 to 1.00, so it exists in all five wear conditions: Factory New (FN), Minimal Wear (MW), Field-Tested (FT), Well-Worn (WW), and Battle-Scarred (BS).
The finish does not pick up scratches or scuffs even at the highest floats. Instead, near the top of the range the painted parts take on a patina that makes the whole rifle look noticeably greener. Use the 3D inspect tool on this page to see how a given wear looks before you buy.
Switch between conditions using the tabs above. Each one has its own listings and price history.
Variants
The AWP | Medusa only comes in a standard version. There is no StatTrak™ version, so every copy is listed under the standard toggle above.
What Drives the Price of the AWP | Medusa
- Wear. Condition is the biggest factor. Factory New copies are the scarcest and sit well above worn ones.
- Float within a condition. A low float inside any wear bracket usually carries a premium.
- Limited supply. With no case and no StatTrak™ version, new copies only come from trade-ups, which keeps supply tight.
- Collector demand. It is one of the best-known older AWP skins, which keeps collector interest high.
- Applied stickers. Rare or well-placed stickers can add value that standard price data does not show.
Compare the offers above before you buy or sell, and set a price alert if you are waiting for a particular level.
