About the AWP | Gungnir
The AWP | Gungnir is a Covert sniper rifle skin from The Norse Collection and one of the most valuable AWP skins in CS2. It was released in CS:GO in November 2019 with Operation Shattered Web, and it has been one of the most wanted skins for the rifle ever since.
Two things set the Gungnir AWP apart. The first is the look: a pearlescent blue and ivory finish that stands out from every other AWP. The second is supply. It is the only Covert skin in its collection, the collection has no weapon case, and it was never available in StatTrak™. Very few exist compared with case-dropped AWP skins.
That makes it a collector's skin first. It trades far less often than everyday AWP skins, so the listings and price history on this page matter more than a single headline price. The wear tabs at the top of this page show the current AWP Gungnir price for each condition.
Design
The skin is named after Gungnir, the spear of Odin in Norse mythology. The spear runs down the body of the rifle, painted in dark blue over a pearlescent blue base and framed by silver linework. The stock, scope, and barrel are finished in ivory and engraved with Norse ornament. The colors on this page break down as mostly grey, blue, and yellow.
The artwork is the same on every copy. There is no pattern to check, so the look of a particular Gungnir comes down to its wear.
How to Get the AWP | Gungnir
The Gungnir belongs to The Norse Collection, which was earned through Operation Shattered Web and is no longer available as a drop. It does not come from a weapon case. There are two ways to get one today.
- Buy it from a marketplace. This is the route almost every buyer takes. The offers at the top of this page show every marketplace with a listing.
- Trade up to it. Ten Classified skins from The Norse Collection trade up into a Gungnir. The only Classified in the collection is the Negev | Mjölnir, which is a rare and valuable skin in its own right. Check the cost of ten before treating a trade-up as the cheaper route.
Wear Conditions and Float
The Gungnir has a float range from 0.00 to 0.60, so it exists in all five wear conditions: Factory New (FN), Minimal Wear (MW), Field-Tested (FT), Well-Worn (WW), and Battle-Scarred (BS). Because the range stops at 0.60, even the most worn copies are less damaged than Battle-Scarred skins that run all the way to 1.00.
Wear shows first on the ivory parts. Light wear adds small marks there, and at higher floats the paint comes away from the stock, barrel, and magazine. The blue body does not scratch in the same way, but it darkens as the float rises. Use the 3D inspect tool on this page to see how a given wear looks before you buy, and check the exact float of any listing, since two copies in the same condition can look different.
Switch between conditions using the tabs above. Each one has its own listings and price history.
Variants
The Gungnir comes in a standard version and a Souvenir version. Pricempire lists the two separately, so you can compare them using the Normal and Souvenir toggle. There is no StatTrak™ version.
What Drives the Price of the AWP | Gungnir
- Fixed supply. The collection no longer drops, so new copies only appear through trade-ups, and each one uses up ten Negev | Mjölnir skins.
- Wear. The gap between conditions is wide on this skin. Factory New copies are scarce and priced well above worn ones.
- Float within a condition. A low float inside any wear bracket usually carries a premium, because the ivory parts look cleaner.
- Souvenir status. Souvenir copies are far scarcer than standard ones and are priced separately.
- Applied stickers. Rare or well-placed stickers can add value that standard price data does not show.
- Demand for the AWP. It is the most recognizable weapon in the game, which keeps interest in its rarest skins high.
- Low trading volume. Few copies change hands, so one sale can move the average. Read the price history over a longer window, not a single week.
Because it trades rarely, prices also differ more between marketplaces than they do for everyday skins. Compare the offers above before you buy or sell, and set a price alert if you are waiting for a particular level.
Similar Skins
If you like the Gungnir, these are the closest alternatives.
- Other collector AWP skins. The AWP | Dragon Lore, AWP | The Prince, and AWP | Desert Hydra are also Covert AWP skins from collections with no weapon case.
- Same collection. The Negev | Mjölnir shares the Norse theme, as do the Desert Eagle | Emerald Jörmungandr, P90 | Astral Jörmungandr, and AUG | Flame Jörmungandr.
- A well-known AWP for less. The AWP | Asiimov is one of the most recognizable AWP skins and far easier to find.
- More choice. Browse all AWP skins on Pricempire.
