About the AWP | Chromatic Aberration
The AWP | Chromatic Aberration is a Covert sniper rifle skin from The Recoil Collection. It was released in CS:GO in July 2022 with the Recoil Case, and it is one of the most common Covert AWP skins you will see in CS2 matches.
Its appeal is the look and the access. The pink and purple design with a deliberate color-offset effect is loud and easy to spot, and it comes from a weapon case with a StatTrak™ version, so there are plenty of copies to choose from. That makes it a popular first Covert AWP.
The wear tabs at the top of this page show the current Chromatic Aberration price for each condition.
Design
The skin is named after a camera and lens effect where colors split apart at the edges. The receiver and scope have pink and purple zebra stripes over a black and grey body, with white icons and the lines "NO SCOPE" and "ONE SHOT ONE KILL". Every element is printed slightly out of line, which gives the whole rifle that offset, split-color look. The colors on this page break down as mostly pink and grey, with black.
The design is the same on every copy. There is no pattern to check, so the look of a particular Chromatic Aberration comes down to its wear.
How to Get the AWP | Chromatic Aberration
There are three ways to get a Chromatic Aberration in CS2.
- Buy it from a marketplace. This is the route most players take, because it lets you pick the exact wear and float. The offers at the top of this page show every marketplace with a listing.
- Open a case. The AWP | Chromatic Aberration drops from the Recoil Case. It is one of two Covert skins in the case, alongside the USP-S | Printstream. Covert drops are rare, at around 0.64% per case.
- Trade up to it. Ten Classified skins from The Recoil Collection trade up into one of its two Coverts, so the result is either a Chromatic Aberration or a USP-S | Printstream. The Classified skins in the collection are the AK-47 | Ice Coaled, P250 | Visions, and Sawed-Off | Kiss♥Love.
Wear Conditions and Float
The Chromatic Aberration has a float range from 0.00 to 0.70, so it exists in all five wear conditions: Factory New (FN), Minimal Wear (MW), Field-Tested (FT), Well-Worn (WW), and Battle-Scarred (BS). Because the range stops at 0.70, even the most worn copies are less damaged than Battle-Scarred skins that run all the way to 1.00.
Wear stays light on the cleaner conditions. Small marks start to appear from Field-Tested, and they grow larger and more frequent toward the top of the range. Use the 3D inspect tool on this page to see how a given wear looks before you buy, and check the exact float of any listing.
Switch between conditions using the tabs above. Each one has its own listings and price history.
Variants
The AWP | Chromatic Aberration comes in a standard version and a StatTrak™ version, which counts your kills with the weapon. Pricempire lists each version separately, so you can compare them using the toggle above.
What Drives the Price of the AWP | Chromatic Aberration
- Wear. Condition is the biggest factor. Factory New copies are the scarcest and sit well above worn ones.
- Float within a condition. A low float inside any wear bracket usually carries a premium.
- StatTrak™. The StatTrak™ version is scarcer than the standard one and priced separately.
- Supply. It comes from a weapon case, so there are far more copies in circulation than of collection-only AWP skins. That keeps it within reach for a Covert AWP.
- Demand for the AWP. It is the most recognizable weapon in the game, which keeps interest in its Covert skins high.
- Applied stickers. Rare or well-placed stickers can add value that standard price data does not show.
Because it trades often, prices between marketplaces stay close together. It is still worth comparing the offers above, and setting a price alert if you are waiting for a particular level.
