Guide Overview

Master Guide to Butterfly Fade Patterns and Percentages

The Fade skin is an Anodized Airbrushed finish typically with three base colors. Purple, Pink, and Yellow are applied to the weapon surface via a technique called Triplanar Mapping. There are 1000 Seed pattern variations in the Fade finish, each of which determines the percentage of the Knife's blade being covered in the Fade colors and the ratio of these colors.

However, the Butterfly Knife has a distinct characteristic where the blade is always fully covered in the Fade pattern even at low Fade percentages, and only the ratio of colors changes depending on the seed pattern. This also results in two completely unique Full Fade types for the Butterfly Knife.

Major chunk covered in Purple and Pink, yellow hardly visible

These patterns feature maximum purple and pink coverage with minimal yellow, making them the most valuable Butterfly Fade patterns. Yellow is hardly visible on these patterns.

Pattern Evaluation

These patterns are very close to 100% fade and are often mistaken for full fade. They offer excellent value as they're hard to distinguish from 100% patterns.

Float is a very important thing to consider when talking about Butterfly Fade. Low floats one will go for a lot more on the rare patterns than normal float ones. The Butterfly Knife Fade comes only in two different wear conditions, which are the Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions. The float value on the Butterfly Knife Fade ranges from 0.00 to 0.08.

100% Full Fade patterns are the most valuable and considered the "Fullest Fade" with maximum purple/pink coverage.

99% Fake Full Fade patterns offer excellent value as they're very hard to distinguish from 100% patterns.

Seed patterns are crucial for value - always verify the pattern number against the percentage lists.

Value And Inspection Notes

Low float values (0.00-0.02) are highly preferred as they maintain the vibrant fade colors without scratches.

StatTrak™ 100% Full Fade patterns are extremely rare and command premium prices in the collector market.
