Cloud9 vs Vitality

The first quarter-final of the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen saw Cloud9 take on Vitality, with Vitality winning two of the three maps.

Map 1: Inferno (Vitality's Pick)

Vitality beat Cloud9 in a gripping match on Inferno. They started strong by winning the first pistol round and added two more wins. Cloud9 took the fourth round and then won five more in a row, one of which was a 1v2 clutch by Boombl4. Vitality responded by winning three rounds, making it a tie at halftime.

After halftime, Vitality won the pistol round once more and two more rounds immediately after that. Cloud9 managed to win two rounds but couldn't maintain their momentum, losing the next four rounds. This gave Vitality the victory on Inferno.

Map 2: Anubis (Cloud9's Pick)

Riding their momentum from the first map, Vitality won the pistol round again and kept up the pace, winning five more rounds before Cloud9 claimed a victory. However, electroNic's quad kill in the 12th round didn't manage to slow down Vitality, who won another five rounds. Cloud9 fought back to win the last round of the first half, with the score ending 10:2 in favor of Vitality.

In the second half, Vitality maintained their intensity, swiftly grabbing the three rounds required to win on Anubis.

FaZe Clan vs Team Spirit

The second quarter-final of the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen saw FaZe Clan go head to head with Team Sprit, with FaZe barely scraping a victory.

Map 1: Mirage (Spirit's Pick)

Spirit kicked off the map with a strong start, taking the first pistol round and following it up with another victory. However, FaZe wasn't far behind, as they quickly fought back, winning three consecutive rounds. Spirit managed to capture another round, but FaZe was determined, winning two more rounds to extend their lead. Not willing to give up, Spirit claimed another round, but FaZe finished the first half strong by taking the last three rounds. This effort put FaZe in a favorable position at halftime, leading 8:4.

Spirit continued the second half with a strong start, securing the first two rounds before FaZe managed to make a comeback, winning three rounds. Spirit claimed their final round on Mirage, before FaZe won the final two rounds needed to secure the win.

Map 2: Nuke (FaZe's Pick)

The match on Nuke started with a different vibe from the first map. FaZe came out strong, having a clean pistol round with 4 kills by frozen and winning the next round as well. Spirit, however, quickly turned things around, claiming seven rounds in a rapid succession. FaZe then managed to add two more rounds to their score, but Spirit took the final round of the first half, leaving them four rounds ahead.

The momentum shifted in the second half. FaZe captured the first two rounds again, but Spirit fought back, winning two rounds themselves. Not to be outdone, FaZe secured three more rounds, only for Spirit to answer with two rounds of their own. FaZe pushed again, winning three rounds, which tied both teams at 12 rounds each as the second half concluded.

This intense back-and-forth took the match into overtime. Spirit kicked off with strong energy, taking three rounds in a row. FaZe matched this intensity, winning the next three rounds, pushing the game into a second overtime. FaZe started the second overtime with a win in the pistol round, but Spirit rallied, capturing the four rounds they needed to claim victory on Nuke with 4 kills by chopper in the 34th round.

Map 3: Vertigo

On Vertigo, FaZe mirrored Spirit's performance from Nuke, coming out of the gates strong with seven consecutive rounds. Spirit managed to find their footing, capturing four rounds, but FaZe closed the first half by winning the final round, putting them four points ahead.

The second half saw FaZe keeping up their momentum, swiftly adding three more rounds. Spirit managed to win a round, interrupting FaZe's streak, but lost the following round to them. This shift momentarily threw off FaZe's rhythm, leading to them losing the next seven rounds, which took the match into overtime.

In overtime, Spirit took the pistol round through a defuse, but then stumbled by losing the next three rounds. They managed to pull off another round win, but it was FaZe who secured the final round with a massive 1v2 clutch by rain, winning map three.
